Canada has been invited to become the first “associate member” of the EU by the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen.
Ottawa is home to people from nearly every part of the world, and among its growing cultural communities is a small but increasingly organized Yemeni-Canadian population. Although the history of Yemenis in Ottawa has not been documented as extensively as that of some larger immigrant communities, their presence in the capital has become more visible through family networks, community organizations, cultural gatherings and newcomer-support initiatives.
