Blessed Eid al-Adha
The administrative board of the Yemeni community in Ottawa extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the great Yemeni people in general, and to the members of the Yemeni community in Ottawa in particular, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. We ask Almighty God to bring it back to everyone with goodness, blessings, and prosperity, and to grant our beloved country Yemen peace and security. This year's Eid event included many entertainment segments and a variety of traditional dances, clearly reflecting the deep cultural and civilizational heritage of the authentic Yemeni people abroad. It also showcased the beauty and diversity of Yemeni heritage, contributing to strengthening the sense of belonging and connection to Yemeni identity among the younger generations. The event also included the distribution of Eid gifts (Eidiya) to children, for whom Eid is a source of joy and happiness, and an opportunity to meet and get to know each other. It also introduced them to the ancient customs and traditions of Yemen, nurturing in them a spirit of love and brotherhood and reinforcing their connection to their cultural roots. While the administrative board celebrates this blessed occasion, it emphasizes the importance of continuing such events that bring community members together and strengthen bonds of love and cooperation among them, praying to God to continuously bless them.

Important Announcement 🚨🚨 The Yemeni community in the Canadian capital, Ottawa, in collaboration with the Canadian Yemeni Women’s Association, is honored to organize a celebratory event for Eid al-Fitr. The event will take place in a social environment that reflects the spirit of brotherhood and belonging among the community members. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 20, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brian Kilrea Arena, and admission is free for everyone. Location 📌 2185 Arch St, Ottawa, ON K1G 3A3 The celebration includes a diverse program that caters to different interests, with two separate sections for men and women. In the women’s section (Hall A), activities will include sharing Eid dishes and sweets, a special photo corner for women, henna for girls, distributing Eid gifts to children, as well as entertainment competitions with symbolic prizes. In the men’s section (Hall B), activities will include sharing Eid dishes, distributing Eidi to children, Yemeni folkloric performances, traditional dances, and organizing games for kids like tug-of-war and various fun activities. This event aims to strengthen social bonds within the community.

Today, the Yemeni community in Ottawa organized a special friendly gathering to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, where members of the community and their children came together for iftar in a warm, Ramadan atmosphere filled with friendliness and harmony. The event aims to strengthen social bonds among the community members, instill Ramadan values in children, and revive authentic Yemeni customs and traditions away from home. Attendees expressed their happiness in participating in this event, which reflects the spirit of love and solidarity among the Yemeni community in Ottawa, emphasizing the importance of continuing such initiatives that bring families together and support intergenerational connections. The Yemeni community in Ottawa is keen on regularly organizing social meetings and activities, especially during Ramadan, due to their significant role in strengthening relationships and fostering a sense of belonging among community members.

Supporting small and medium-sized projects
The Yemeni community is working hard to support small and medium-sized businesses by mobilizing the local community and encouraging them to visit and support small businesses owned by Canadian citizens of Yemeni origin. This initiative comes from a belief in the importance of community solidarity and its role in promoting economic stability and empowering entrepreneurs. This will be carried out through a community gathering on Saturday, February 14, 2026, which will be an open day for meeting and getting to know each other in a friendly atmosphere, with lunch served at Taj Saba Restaurant at 5 PM.
